The Tailgating Lot Just Got Closer to The Dome

Vikings to buy 4 blocks by Dome
In a story Star Tribune Writers Mike Kaszuba and Paul Levy, dated June 15, 2007 – It was indicated that Viking Owner Zygi Wilf has "tentatively agreed to buy four city blocks for $45 million from Avista Capital Partners, owners of the Star Tribune, as part of a broader plan to build a football stadium and develop surrounding land in downtown Minneapolis."

If true, it looks like the diehard tailgaters might have a dream season, tailgating within walking distance of the Metrodome again for the 2007 season. Another possible sloution, might be Matt Birk's "Matty B's" restaurant, who may be in negotiations to offer up the lot at his location to be part of the Vikings official tailgating lot for 2007. Nothing is confirmed at this point, but stay tuned for further tailgating developments soon.
